I am currently researching the sociology of bridge and mindsport, recently setting up Bridge: A MindSport for All. Projects include bridge and gender, wellbeing, youth participation, elite players, digital bridge and the impact of Covid-19.My research interests were within the sociology of childhood (including sibling relationships and birth order, food practices in residential care, child-adult relations and Bolivian childhoods) and the sociology of development (including household livelihoods, migration and child labour). I have also researched the sustainable use of aquatic resources and rural livelihoods in China, Vietnam and India.
