ABOUT SAM OWEN

I am currently in my second year of pursuing a BSc in Software Engineering at Queen\'s University Belfast, with a strong passion for technology and innovation. Alongside my studies, I am a PwC Tech Degree Apprentice, where I had the opportunity to complete a 10-week placement as part of PwC’s Digital Design team. During this placement, I collaborated on key projects, developing digital solutions that not only demonstrated my technical abilities but also enhanced my teamwork and problem-solving skills.My academic journey began at Whitchurch High School, where I achieved A-levels in Maths, Computer Science, and History, giving me a unique combination of both technical and non-technical expertise. This blend of subjects has allowed me to think critically and approach problems from a well-rounded perspective, balancing analytical thinking with creative problem-solving.Beyond academics, my time working in hospitality as a bartender and waiter has honed my interpersonal skills, making me adaptable, patient, and resilient in high-pressure environments. I thrive on collaboration and am always looking for ways to develop both my technical and soft skills.I am excited to embark on my year in industry at PwC next year, where I look forward to deepening my experience within the tech industry. Additionally, I’m eager to further my knowledge at university, continuing to build the skills and insights needed to make a meaningful impact in the field of software engineering.
