About Sam Mix
I work for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the Response Geospatial Office (RGO) as a Geospatial Information System (GIS) Architect, and I am responsible for the agency\'s enterprise geospatial architecture. I develop and oversee strategies and solutions for GIS administration, geospatial data governance and management, and many other multifaceted GIS projects. My prior experiences include using computer languages (python, SQL, etc.) for data mining and wrangling, automating mapping processes, maintaining regional GIS databases, and building tools for other GIS specialists and planners. I have worked in GIS, environmental policy, and emergency management since 2014, at the local, state, and federal levels.
