After over a decade in big law firms, I made the leap of faith and opened my firm on Nov. It\'s fair to say many of my friends and colleagues told me I was crazy to give up an equity shareholder position at a 700-lawyer firm. Initially, my firm represented companies in intellectual property. Over time, my firm evolved to include additional areas of litigation and transactional work, such as real estate, business disputes, professional liability, technology agreements, and personal injury.
