About Sam Lowry

For as long as I can remember, I\'ve been obsessed with building things. It started out with the sandbox at a young age, then moved on to Legos, and from there Erector sets. As a child, these things built my interest in engineering. In highschool, I solidifed these interests after joing FIRST Robotics, quickly taking a strong role within my team.Now at UW Madison, I hope to grow these interests even more, so far with classes such as Geometric Modeling for Design and Manufacturing and hopefully engineering organizations such as Formula SAE in the fall.While going through school, I have always made effort to gain experience in the workforce. I worked at the Corner Pub in Milwaukee for 4 years, learning to better interact with strangers and working in high intensity enviroments. I then began working at Amazon and have worked there since. Here I quickly stood out to my managers and showcased my ability to learn quickly.On top of my coursework and working, I enjoyed multiple extra-curricular activities. In highschool I earned 12 varisty letters, made multiple state appearances, and was awarded with MVP. As I mentioned arlier, I was also involved with FIRST Robotics during this time. Now in college, I have joined both the Alpine Ski Race Team and the Waterski Team.
