Sam Khader is a Medical Science Liaison at Jazz Pharmaceuticals, specializing in hematology/oncology. In his current role, Sam supports the advancement of care for patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, secondary acute myeloid leukemia, and veno-occlusive disease. He is passionate about bridging scientific innovation and medical practice to improve outcomes for patients living with serious and rare hematologic conditions.Based in Boston, Sam partners with pediatric and adult hematologist/oncologists, clinical pharmacists, and multidisciplinary teams across the Northeast U.S. He focuses on translating emerging data into clinical practice, supporting collaborative research efforts, and identifying opportunities for meaningful impact through medical insights and evidence generation.Sam earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. His professional journey includes diverse experiences across field medical affairs, brand strategy, and market access. Prior to Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Sam served as a Medical Science Liaison at Alexion-AstraZeneca Rare Disease, where he supported the NF1 franchise and built trusted relationships with KOLs across a 13-state territory to help shape U.S. medical strategy. Earlier roles at Bayer and Pfizer provided Sam with valuable expertise in strategic brand planning, payer value proposition development, and cross-functional leadership.Sam’s goal is to continue to leverage and optimize his skills in medical affairs, where he can further shape medical strategy, contribute to data generation plans, and help bring innovative therapies to patients who need them most. Above all, Sam remains deeply committed to improving the lives of patients and ensuring that cutting-edge science translates into real-world impact.

   As a guest lecturer, I have the privilege of engaging with doctoral students on the evolving role of pharmacists within the pharmaceutical industry and the critical value of field-based Medical Affairs, with a special focus on the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) function. Through interactive discussions and real-world insights, I empower the next generation of pharmacy leaders to understand the impact of industry pharmacists on patient care, scientific exchange, and innovation. My sessions aim to bridge academic knowledge with industry application, equipping students with the tools to drive meaningful change in healthcare and positioning them as future leaders in medical affairs. This ongoing collaboration with Northeastern School of Pharmacy reflects my commitment to advancing pharmacy education and fostering a culture of excellence in both academia and industry.
