I graduated in 2023 from Yale University with a simultaneous B.A./M.A. degree in East Asian Studies (China track) and a B.A. in Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies (Eastern Europe & Eurasia track), both with distinction. I speak modern and ancient Chinese, Hungarian, and some Turkish.During with my junior and senior years of high school, I attended the George Washington University as a full-time college student, and graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in addition to a high school diploma. I now work as a professional dancer, rehearsal assistant, teacher, and tutor.I have been a tap dancer for 19 years and am a founding member of the DC youth tap ensemble, Capitol Tap. While at Yale, I served as the Co-President of Taps at Yale for two years, during which I expanded group membership to record numbers, choreographed large group dances, worked with live musicians, coordinated schedules, and produced four semester-end shows. I also served as the choreographer of the step team, Steppin\' Out, for three years, choreographing a set debuted at Lincoln Center in NYC. Back in DC, I have been teaching students of all ages to tap dance at Knock On Wood Tap Studio (both in-person and through Zoom) since 2017, and have taught free classes to preschool students. With my twin brother, I have performed at various nursing homes, religious institutions, on Broadway stages, at the New Haven Shubert Theatre, and have done outreach in local DC schools.I have expanded my artistic endeavors and have become a member of the Central/Eastern European folk dancing group, Carpathia, and the Hungarian folk dancing group, Tisza Ensemble. I have performed at the Embassy of Hungary in the United States, the Kossuth Foundation, the Cherry Blossom Festival, Hungarian bazaars and festival in the DMV area, and Ukrainian festivals in DC, MD, VA, and PA. I also serve as a rehearsal assistant and repertoire historian for Percussion Discussion.I am passionate about the arts, care deeply about international and global perspectives, and have experience in fundraising, teaching, and multilingual research. Additionally, I have conducted a fully-funded independent research project for over three months in Slovenia, Hungary, and Poland, and have presented papers at academic research symposia and conferences at NYU, University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pennsylvania.
