About Sam Grove
Building a meaningful employee experience means so much to me because I was the retail employee I now work to shape that for. My journey started as a temporary cashier with a lot of heart and curiosity to grow and be more. As I grew up through store leadership roles and made my journey to the Human Resources and Employee Relations teams I knew I’d found my calling because I could support our people. That experience still guides my path. Employee wellbeing at work isn’t at odds against anyone’s agenda. We thrive when our teams thrive. I thrive connecting organizational resilience and performance to our people strategy. Leading Velvet’s people strategy to connect our team to our mission and purpose, give our people opportunities to learn, grow, and do a lot of what they do best, and feel recognized for their authenticity is my joy. I’m also a lifelong volunteer and my time supporting social impact programs through the HR function has led me to direct Velvet’s nonprofit, the Velvet Foundation. The intention of the foundation is to create community engagement opportunities that are meaningful, purposeful, and help those in need directly in the areas we operate. Let\'s connect!
