As Senior Director of Financial Operations, Sam is responsible for developing and leading the financial strategy for Wealth Protection at AmeriLife. He oversees and manages all Wealth Protection business financial functions and responsibilities including budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting as well as financial analysis and expense management. Sam is accountable for identifying opportunities that meet financial business objectives and influencing strategic financial decisions with leadership.Prior to AmeriLife, Sam lead the Financial Planning team for the EU Division of Amazon Transportation. Sam\'s team owned the financial planning deliverables (annual/quarterly guidance and long-term plan) for the over $19B EU transportation business. Sam\'s team was also responsible for publishing financial month-end results and providing ad hoc financial analysis to help guide and implement the vision of Amazon transportation.Prior to joining Amazon, Sam was a Director with PwC in their Private Company Assurance practice. He spent 11 years serving private clients in a wide variety of industries. Sam spent the majority of his career working with large, multinational audit clients and has extensive experience consulting on a multitude of topics including GAAP and IFRS reporting, business combinations, SOX implementation, debt and equity offerings as well as various other complex accounting and business matters. His group has a proven track record of helping ensure companies achieve their desired outcomes timely, including successful IPOs and SPAC transactions.Sam earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Samford University with a double major in Accounting and Economics and a concentration in International Business. He started his career with PwC in Washington, DC and spent two years with PwC UK in London before moving back to DC. He later spent over two years with PwC in Jacksonville, Florida, and over two years with Amazon in London before moving to Tampa to join AmeriLife.Sam holds an active CPA license in Florida and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
