About Sam Campion
If I told you I\'ve had 6 jobs in 14 years, would you think it was something I could do en route to the highest honor for Cast Members at the Walt Disney Company? Despite what it may look like on paper, I\'m not someone who is just looking for the next best thing. My career at Disney is founded on trying to make a positive impact anywhere I go, and when new opportunities present themselves where I can learn a new skill or grow as a person, I have a really hard time saying no. One of the draws of the Walt Disney Company is the ability to grow one’s career on a ‘lattice’ across functional areas and lines of business. Since joining Disney, I have leveraged the lattice to move among unique functions of the Finance organization to gain new skills and learn how different businesses work.My finance and accounting experience includes • financial reporting, incl. entity consolidation, management reporting, government / SEC filings• short- and long-term forecasting and planning at a business-unit level ($500M cost base) and consolidated level ($15B+ revenue / cost base)• enterprise IT, incl. technology projects and ongoing maintenance• large-scale capital projects, from blue sky design development through construction and launch• digital transformation of global finance organization, incl. vision-setting, strategy, change management, robotic process automation (RPA), and new tools & technology for finance usersThe cornerstones of my approach are process improvement and meaningful relationships based on trust. I enjoy solving problems, driven to discover how something works and then improve it. My belief is that with a growth mindset, anyone can learn anything. I challenge my peers, partners, direct reports, and leaders to remain curious and think about new ways to approach ‘the same old problems’, often by stepping out of one’s comfort zone.
