ABOUT SAM CAIRNS
I\'m a Business Management student at The University of Sheffield, with a strong interest in the commercial, strategic and operational side of sport, particularly Football and Formula 1.Alongside my studies, I also have a year of hands-on experience working within professional sport. I currently work with Sheffield Wednesday, in particular their esports brand, Owls Esports, contributing to marketing and commercial strategy, especially focusing on commercial partnerships/brand deals. I joined the team by proactively reaching out and have since worked part-time, gaining valuable insight into how a football club operates off the pitch during a challenging period.In addition, I am working with Dig1tal as their Head of Marketing and Client Acquisition. Dig1tal is a start-up brand who are experts in bespoke ERP and other business systems to help brands streamline their operations and free up their time to focus on growth.Across these roles, I’ve developed practical skills in sales, networking, stakeholder engagement, social media marketing, marketing strategy, lead generation, communication, and problem-solving, while working in fast-paced, professional environments.I’m always open to conversations, advice, and new connections, particularly with professionals working in sport, football, motorsport, commercial or partnerships roles.
