ABOUT SAM ALEXANDER

12 years of experience working for small companies, the latter half of that in Ad Tech. Experienced in creating, maintaining, and taking ownership of reporting pipelines from initial data pulls, through database ingestion and transformation, to ultimately creating the dashboards and reports used by stakeholders. Experienced in working directly with stakeholders to custom build reports to their needs. I have experience doing sys-admin and user-admin work directly in Redshift and some experience doing it indirectly in Snowflake via Terraform. I mainly use Python for production work, R for local exploration and ideation, while database interactions are handled using SQL. I\'ve used AWS to create, maintain, interact with reporting infrastructure, including setting up the IAM permissions and security groups. I have created, maintained, and owned EC2-based Airflow installations to serve as replacement for AWS Lambda scheduling. I am comfortable taking ownership of whatever infrastructure I use, and have worked in typical ticket-based sprints as well as completely independently where I was responsible for assigning work to myself and the 1-2 people under me at the time.
