At a high level, my day-to-day responsibilities include the following:• Conduct comprehensive internal audits (remote, on-site, or hybrid) across various departments, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls in a Sarbanes-Oxley (\"SOX\") environment while simultaneously recommending enhancements to mitigate identified risks.• Support the integration and implementation of SOX compliance frameworks for newly acquired companies, Diamond Resorts International and Bluegreen Vacations, ensuring proper internal controls are established and aligned with corporate governance standards and regulatory requirements.• Partner with external auditors, Ernst & Young (\"EY\"), to coordinate audit activities, conduct process walkthroughs, and facilitate the exchange of information.• Prepare detailed audit reports, create audit templates, and summarize findings while providing actionable recommendations to senior management and necessary stakeholders.• Utilize data analytic tools such as Microsoft Power BI and Tableau, as well as audit software such as AuditBoard, to streamline audit processes and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of audit procedures.• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and verify their effectiveness in addressing audit findings.• Assist in the preparation and presentation of audit results to the Audit Committee and executive leadership.• Stay updated with hospitality and timeshare industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization\'s audit practices remain current and effective.• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior auditors, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional development.• Successfully manage multiple audit projects and SOX control testing simultaneously to meet tight deadlines and maintain high-quality standards.
