ABOUT SALSA SARHAN

Salsa Sarhan is a multifaceted professional with extensive experience in community engagement social media management, public service, event hosting, volunteer coordination, and leadership. Over the past 10 years, she has honed her skills in content creation and social media management notably working with local Hamilton platforms like @hamontyouth,@modelcityhallhamilton,@bridgingbordershamilton, supporting figures such as Mayor Andrea Horwath (@andreahorwath), and successfully managing her own freelance social media business @hamontsalsa Salsa’s leadership extends into the service industry, where she has taken on managerial and supervisory roles, and student government where she served as president, vice president, and team captain within Sir John A Macdonald and McMaster University. As a McMaster graduate, Salsa earned her Honours Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Labour Studies, with a Minor in Public Leadership, and was named the Social Sciences Valedictorian. Her academic excellence and community involvement have earned her several prestigious awards, including the McMaster Mary E Keyes Leadership Award, McMaster Rudy Hienzl Award, the ACCPI Scholarship Award The Reverend John C Holland Award and 3 YWCA Women of Distinction Nominations. Professionally, Salsa has held diverse roles, including Constituency Assistant in the Office of the Mayor of Hamilton, City of Hamilton Youth Engager, Keylead at SPINCO Hamilton, and Assistant Store Manager and Social Media Manager at Mulberry CoffeeHouse. Her volunteer work is equally impressive, contributing to numerous community events and serving in various leadership capacities at McMaster University and in the Hamilton community.
