ABOUT SALONI NEMADE
My passion for healthcare initially emerged through volunteer experiences at various hospitals and organizations such as Jersey City Medical Center, St. Peter\'s Hospital, Children\'s Specialized Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, Circle of Sisterhood, and the Embrace Kids Foundation. Most recently, I was able to dive further into the professional world of healthcare by interning at the distinguished Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. It was my time at MSK where I gained the most patient care experience and became interested in working more closely with patients. These experiences have molded my character into an empathetic, hard-working, and passionate student. My skills gained such as time management, team communication, and implementing unique ideas have allowed me to effectively manage multiple responsibilities. I am seeking to use my background to make a difference in patients’ lives. I am eager to learn as much as I can in the accelerated nursing program at Columbia University. My goal is to begin working as an RN in critical care settings before advancing my education into more specialized care as a nurse practitioner.
