About Salman Husain
I’m an international affairs and project management specialist with over a decade of experience with the U.S. State Department and international NGOs in Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey. With regional expertise in the Middle East and Central Asia, I operate at the nexus of diplomacy, policy, and strategic program delivery, helping organizations implement high-impact strategies in complex global emergencies. My skill set includes Agile-driven project management, policy analysis & development, risk management, strategic communications, multi-stakeholder coordination, and regional Middle East subject matter expertise. Adaptable under pressure, I thrive in fast-paced and mission-driven environments.I’ve overseen a humanitarian portfolio of more than $250 million at the U.S. State Department, directing multi-sector crisis response in Lebanon and Central Asia (health, food assistance, shelter, protection, livelihoods). Previously, I led field operations spanning more than $50 million in grants across Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey with international NGOs, managing multi-sectoral programs and navigating political, donor, and operational dynamics. I’ve provided high-level policy advice and authored published analysis on Syria. Fluent in Arabic and Bengali, I engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, from governments and UN agencies to local partners, to align strategy, streamline implementation, attain funding, engage donors, and drive impact on the ground.
