ABOUT SALLY HAMBLET
I am a dress and cultural historian who is based in London. In 2023 I completed a Masters of Art History from The Courtauld Institute, specializing in Documenting Fashion: Modernity, Films and Image in America and Europe, 19••••60. I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2020, with a BFA in Fashion Design and minor in Art History. My professional career in the design field involved time at luxury labels such as Gabriela Hearst, Adam Lippes, and Spencer Vladimir. I also gained valuable experience at America’s oldest clothing brand: Brooks Brothers. I seek to incorporate my first hand knowledge of American sportswear\'s history, sustainability, into compelling narratives that can educate the public about the important role fashion plays not only in terms of self identity, but it\'s influence within the wider fields of art, commerce, and ethics. I am looking for opportunities that will facilitate the advancement of my critical observation and research skills in the field of dress and textile history, while incorporating my previous experiences in contemporary design.
