ABOUT SALIMA ABDULLA
I’m a L&D specialist with over 6 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering leadership programs for frontline and emerging leaders in complex, fast-moving organizations. My work sits at the intersection of leadership capability, behavioural change, and practical application — helping frontline managers build the confidence and skills to manage performance, navigate difficult conversations, lead through change, and stay grounded under pressure.Earlier in my career, I worked as a Senior Auditor and continue to hold my CPA designation. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for developing others — finding real satisfaction in training, mentoring, and helping people translate complex concepts into confident action. That foundation still shapes how I approach leadership development today.I bring a coaching-informed approach to my facilitation and development work, drawing on corporate coaching experience, adult learning principles, and applied neuroscience. While I am not a certified coach, I regularly use coaching tools, reflective questioning, and behavior-based feedback to support leader growth in both group and 1:1 settings. My financial background also allows me to partner effectively with leaders on the business side of learning — including comfort with budgets, trade-offs, ROI considerations, and the realities of operational constraints. I hold a certificate in Instructional Design and have led end-to-end learning initiatives, from needs analysis and curriculum design to facilitator guides, participant materials, and live delivery (virtual and in-person).I’m currently interested in contract facilitation, leadership training, and consulting opportunities in learning and development — particularly work focused on frontline leadership, manager effectiveness, and culture change.
