ABOUT KEVIN A. SALAZAR

I grew up in the thick air of financial imprudence. Back in the 80s and 90s, making a lot of money and spending it was the name of the game, especially in our North Jersey neighborhood. Often this trend didn’t lead to sustainable decisions. Whether due to irresponsible spending or uncontrollable scenarios like market crashes and divorce, you always knew who hadn’t prepared—repossessed cars, foreclosed homes, government subsidies. For some families it didn’t get that bad. For other families it got far worse.Keep in mind, this was a time before everyone carried the internet around in their pocket. Access to basic financial education was minimal to non-existent, and financial advisors weren’t exactly common in our neighborhood.An insatiable drive to know everything about finance and make financial prudence more available catapulted me into this amazing journey. I got a B.S. in Finance, Series 7 & 66, ChFC®, CLU®, and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional all before age 30. I’ve since achieved the designation of Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®), and now, I share my experience and knowledge with Charlotte’s best up-and-coming advisors as the Managing Director in Charlotte. I practice what I preach.I’m not the cookie-cutter, rinse-and-repeat financial advisor your parents have—though I am the retirement planner they need.
