About Sal Jafar

Sal serves as a Principal of Odyssey, overseeing acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions. He has been involved with the firm for nearly two decades, and is comprehensively involved in each project from start to finish. Sal’s primary areas of expertise include development, financing, construction, management, and dispositions, and he has been involved in the development of units ($600mm) during his tenure at Odyssey. He also Co-Founded Catena Homes in 2021. His areas of focus include acquisition, capital markets, operations, and strategic initiatives. During his time with Catena he has overseen 85mm in development. Currently Sal serves on the Board of EvenFlow AI. Sal grew up in Dallas, attending St. Mark’s School of Texas and then spent some time in Chicago before returning to Hillcrest, and completing his Bachelor’s degree at Southern Methodist University (SMU). Sal grew up around his family business and has been studying blueprints and pro formas since around the time he learned to read, so it\'s fair to say that real estate and investments are something that flow through his veins. Sal has also co-founded a small technology investment company, a consulting firm whose founders have underwritten or asset managed over $1B in assets, a hospitality company which has received multiple accolades, and is an active private equity & venture capital investor. He is also responsible for the management of the Jafar family investment vehicle, along with its charitable endeavors.
