ABOUT SAKSHAM PHUL

I graduated with MS in Chemical Engineering with a graduate minor in Computational Sciences at Penn State University. I am currently working as Bioinformatics Engineer at Children\'s hospital of Philadelphia to develop WGS, WES based data analysis pipeline and deploy them on AWS. Prior to this, I worked at Vanderbilt University as a research scientist/engineer to develop ANNs based model to predict functional impact of mutations and added GUI to Foldit game for small molecule design. In short, I aspire to implement my skills gained in high-performance computing, machine learning, and scientific software development along with experience in physical & life sciences to address important problem of modern mankind. At Penn State, I conducted molecular dynamic and Monte-Carlo simulations to understand aggregation of atoms on a surface and applying Machine Learning to nanocrystal seeds to clusters them into shapes. This work was published as my master\'s thesis titled as \'Understanding growth mechanism of copper nanowire and application of machine learning to silver nanoseeds\'Before MS, I worked as a junior research fellow at IIT Bombay on CFD simulation of photo-bioreactor. I believe my undergraduate degree in Chemical engineering at BITS Pilani, laid a strong foundation to handle the scientific challenges from first principles.
