ABOUT SAKIB NIAZ

As a seasoned sales and support professional, I have spent over a decade honing my skills in customer-facing roles. However, I recently made the bold decision to pivot my career and follow my passion for data. Currently, I am enrolled in a rigorous program at Masterschool, where I am refining my data visualization, statistical analysis, and programming skills in languages such as Python and SQL. My academic journey also includes courses in journalism and lean six sigma strategies, which add a unique dimension to my perspective on data. I am thrilled to be volunteering with PolicyEngine, a revolutionary app that empowers individuals to calculate how tax-benefit policies impact them. This cutting-edge, open-source software provides an easy-to-use platform that is accessible to anyone. With PolicyEngine, users can gain a deeper understanding of the complex world of tax-benefit policies and make informed decisions that can significantly impact their lives. In addition to my involvement with PolicyEngine, I have also started Datacacy, an initiative aimed at promoting positive change through the power of data. As an ambitious professional, I am excited about the endless possibilities that data offers. I am constantly on the lookout for new and innovative ways to apply my skills, which is why I am eager to explore new connections and opportunities to learn and grow. As a member of the Data Visualization Society and Data for Good Toronto, I am always looking to collaborate with other like-minded individuals and organizations to leverage the power of data for a better tomorrow.
