ABOUT SAJU CHACKO

I have a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics from Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education and an Advanced Diploma in Power Engineering Technology from Georgian College, where I made the Dean\'s list three times. I am currently a Process Operator (Board) at SaskPower, where I ensure the safe and efficient operation of the co-gen plant and its equipment. I have a 2nd class Power Engineer certification from both TSSA and the Government of Alberta with all exams cleared for 1st Class. My core competencies include creative problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication. In my previous role as a Shift Engineer at Hornepayne Power Inc, I was responsible and accountable for meeting the KPIs set by management and taking corrective action when needed. I also performed routine rounds of the plant and monitored and controlled the plant equipment from the DCS. I worked with a team of engineers and technicians to install, maintain, and troubleshoot piping systems, respond to plant trips, synchronize turbine to the grid, and perform daily water tests and chemical treatments. I contributed to the plant\'s reliability, efficiency, and environmental performance. I am motivated by the challenge and opportunity to apply my skills and knowledge to a variety of power generation systems and processes. I value teamwork, safety, and continuous learning. I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the organization, as I have a background in both electrical and mechanical engineering.
