About Saikat Ghosh

I love solving problems and writing elegant code. I love diving deep into the domain I am working on. I am very interested in Mathematics and regularly participate in programming contests. I started my career in a data engineering role in GE. It involved ingesting data into a data warehouse from a variety of different sources. This data powered dashboards, used to make business decisions. This was a part of GE’s strategy to embrace digital transformation.The next step of my career was at Amazon in AmazonPay. I contributed to the team that catered to the experience of merchants who had onboarded to Amazon Pay - registration, transaction processing and settlements. I got fantastic exposure to cloud, security, microservices and API design. I particularly took a liking to infrastructure and diving into their internals, and learnt from Amazon’s engineering practices. I helped in improving the resilience of the system. Finally, I went to Microsoft Bing where I worked in the Autosuggest team. The team takes care of showing suggestions to the user as they search in Bing. I contributed to enhancing the platform and security of services involved in Autosuggest. Aside from my stints in these organisation, I remain a passionate problem solver in my own time.
