About Sai Hari Krishnan

After graduating, I joined Freshworks as a Software Engineer, where I spent two years upskilling myself. My manager, Mr. Karthik Rajendran, recognized my growth potential and entrusted me with the responsibility of migrating core modules of Freshdesk from Go Middleware to a native client. I successfully migrated key modules, such as the Customer Detail, Ticket List and Actions, and Time Log modules. This was a significant task, as it involved transferring complex business logic to the new architecture. Alongside the migration, I prioritized the stability of the modules by writing comprehensive unit test coverage, which resulted in a noticeable increase in code coverage percentage, from 9.62% to 15.92%. While working on the migration, I also identified discrepancies in the codebase that could lead to inefficiencies. Specifically, I noticed that certain APIs were being called multiple times unnecessarily. To address this, I refactored the code by combining these API calls under a single repository layer and implemented a singleton pattern to confirm they were hit only once. I also created reusable use cases, adhering to the SOLID principles of software engineering, which allowed the code to be easily consumed across different parts of the application. In addition to my technical contributions, I was proactive in addressing customer issues and helping the company save costs. One instance stands out when a high-paying customer escalated a bug related to the Time Log module that was negatively impacting their agents\' productivity. The customer was about to churn, which could have cost the company significant revenue. I immediately took ownership, spent several hours troubleshooting, and managed to fix the bug. My quick resolution not only saved the customer relationship but also saved the company nearly $2,570 in monthly revenue. For my swift action, I was recognized with a spot award, which further reinforced my reputation for delivering high-quality results under pressure. My experiences have helped me hone my ability to identify problems, develop effective solutions, and ensure that the projects I work on are completed to the highest standards. My journey at Freshworks has not only upskilled me technically but also instilled in me a sense of responsibility and a deep commitment to delivering value to both my team and the company.
