As a part of NFI’s prestigious Abhijit Sen Rural Internship Programme (Cohort 3, 2025), I am conducting grassroots-level research focused on understanding credit accessibility and farmer decision-making in rural India.Research Focus:\"Understanding the Choice of Credit Sources for Farmers in Rural Mohegaon Block, Mandla District, Madhya Pradesh\"Key Responsibilities:Designing and administering structured questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and focused group discussions with farmers, SHGs, FPOs, and financial stakeholders.Collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data on institutional and non-institutional credit usage.Studying the effectiveness of rural credit schemes like the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and SHG-bank linkages.Collaborating with NGOs like PRADAN, local Panchayat bodies, and financial institutions to understand the ground-level ecosystem.Documenting field insights to contribute toward inclusive public policy recommendations in rural credit and livelihoods. This internship bridges academic learning and real-world application, offering direct exposure to rural governance, agricultural economics, and financial inclusion.
