ABOUT SAI KALYAN EVANI
I work on developing inspection technologies for condition assessment. My research areas include scientific machine learning, acoustics, wave propagation, infrared thermography, machine learning, signal processing, 3D vision/perception and computer vision. Primary applications include (1) developing machine/computer vision applications for visual inspection of aircraft engines and parts,(2) 3D vision/perception, novel view synthesis (3) developing ultrasound based NDE technologies to be used during manufacturing for flaw/inclusion detection in metals and composites,(4) developing infrared thermography based NDE technologies for inspection of composites for both GE\'s manufacturing and services divisions, and (5) developing damage detection and quantification algorithms from X-ray CT data using principles from computer vision, computational photography and signal processing.
