As an Assistant Manager – Production at Maruti Suzuki’s Kharkhoda Plant, I lead operations on the Trim Line — managing 5 sub-lines, 10 supervisors, and a workforce of ~180 associates in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.Being part of Maruti’s greenfield project team, I was involved right from the plant’s early phase — from layout design and equipment setup to full-scale SOP and production ramp-up. My work ensures seamless daily output of 750+ vehicles, maintaining strict adherence to takt time, safety, and quality standards.I oversee shift planning, manpower deployment, process monitoring, and defect reduction, ensuring consistent operational efficiency and production stability. I also drive continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean manufacturing principles, Kaizen, 5S, and root cause analysis (8D/Why-Why) to minimize downtime and optimize resource utilization.I successfully completed a 2-month technical training program at Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, gaining direct exposure to global best practices in lean manufacturing, process standardization, and quality management systems (QMS).Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, I work on process audits, equipment validation, and supplier quality feedback loops to ensure alignment with MSIL’s production excellence standards.Key Highlights:• Led Trim Line operations for India’s largest automotive manufacturing setup.• Contributed to greenfield launch success through end-to-end process development and stabilization.• Implemented process improvements reducing minor stoppages and improving line efficiency.• Mentored frontline supervisors and associates to build a strong culture of ownership and quality focus.
