As Hardware Lead, I oversee and develop mission-critical hardware components (such as accessibility buttons and lighting systems) that facilitate a VR astronaut training platform supporting future lunar expeditions. My role manages intra-system collaboration with our firmware teams to achieve requirements for wireless Bluetooth integration and ensure hardware compatibility in an augmented reality environment. I also represented the hardware team at the 2025 NASA SUITS competition at Space Center Houston this summer, where I made on-site adjustments to our buttons system, lighting system, and HoloLens2 VR headset to improve competition performance. By incorporating judge and astronaut feedback, I helped to refine system accessibility and propose additional hardware components to improve training efficiency as we prepare for the 2026 competition.
