I advise clients across a wide range of industries on complex international arbitration, commercial litigation, and investor-State disputes, often involving public international law and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) considerations.Recent representative matters include acting for a global telecommunications company in an ICC arbitration worth over US $1 billion involving a shareholder dispute with public international law issues; advising an international hotel group in an LCIA arbitration against a prominent hotel franchisor; acting claimant-side in a circa US $250 million UNCITRAL investor-State arbitration under a bilateral investment treaty, followed by related proceedings in the English Commercial Court; and advising an ultra-high-net-worth individual (UHNWI) in Court of Appeal proceedings involving a complex contractual dispute; and currently acting in an LMAA arbitration for a PE-backed portfolio company in a complex cross-border shipping dispute.I also regularly advise State-owned entities and multinational corporates on public international law and business & human rights. My recent experience includes advising on climate change-related PIL matters before ITLOS and the ICJ; successfully defending a multinational in a high-profile greenwashing investigation before the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA); and advising on OECD complaints, UN frameworks, and human rights mandates.
