About Sahar Abbaszadeh

Sahar leads Arup’s Americas West region sustainability teams, overseeing the delivery of sustainability, climate, and resilience projects. She is an architect with over 20 years of experience in high-performance building design and construction, and an expert project manager and contributor for Arup’s large and complex sustainability and decarbonization projects. Sahar is an industry leader in decarbonization, resilient microgrids, and utility program evaluations. Having led over 30 successful large LEED certification projects, conducted over 200 LEED certification reviews, and served on the technical advisory group for the US Green Building Council, Sahar has advised and managed countless multi-disciplinary teams of owners, architects, energy managers, consultants, and contractors to achieve performance targets through strategy, planning, implementing, monitoring, and verification. Sahar holds a Master of Science in Architecture degree from the University of California in Berkeley and has conducted post-occupancy evaluation research at the Center for the Built Environment.
