About Sagar Bm
I currently serve as the Dean of Student Affairs at RV College of Engineering (RVCE) and am a Professor in the Department of Information Science and Engineering.Previously, I served as the Head of the Department of Information Science and Engineering for over 6.5 years, during which I initiated several impactful programs such as Mock Interviews, Peer Learning platforms, Alumni Interaction sessions, and Weekly Knowledge-Sharing activities that significantly enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes.In 2016, I founded the Coding Club @RVCE, which I continue to mentor actively. Under my guidance, the club has grown into a vibrant student-led initiative, organizing- Friday Night Contests – a weekly programming challenge to build a culture of competitive coding- Alumni Interaction Sessions – fostering mentorship and knowledge exchange across batches- BlockLearner – a dedicated student team specializing in Blockchain technologies- Capture the Flag (CTF) Events – cybersecurity challenges hosted in collaboration with IIT-Mumbai and other partner institutions.Beyond technical mentorship, I also contribute to- Supporting focused student groups by identifying specific academic or personal needs and addressing them effectively- Enhancing student engagement across curricular and co-curricular domains, ensuring a holistic approach to student development.My research interests include Large Language Models, Algorithms, and Data Analytics, with over 80 research papers and book chapters published in reputed journals and conferences.Additionally, I am passionate about process automation and enjoy collaborating with students to design and develop solutions that streamline academic and administrative workflows.
