ABOUT SAFIA S.
I am a human rights and conflict researcher focusing on post-conflict justice, international human rights law, and sanctions policy, with extensive experience working across the Middle East. I graduated from Columbia University in 2021 as part of the Dual BA Program with Sciences Po and completed an MSc in Conflict Studies at the London School of Economics in 2023, specializing in transitional justice and post-conflict reconstruction. I am currently completing my JD at Columbia Law School and an LL.M. in International Criminal Law at the University of Amsterdam, where my work centers on accountability, reparations, and the design and evaluation of transitional justice mechanisms. My research and commentary have been published in the International Journal of Transitional Justice, Lawfare, Opinio Juris, Verfassungsblog, Responsible Statecraft, and ASIL Insights.
