ABOUT SAFIA I.
Final Year BSc Biochemistry (Hons) with Professional Experience Student passionate about drug discovery and clinical trials in the pharmaceutical sector. I recently completed a 13-month long Industrial Placement at Roche Products Ltd in the Clinical Pharmacology department. My primary responsibilities included: performing Noncompartmental Analyses (NCAs) to derive pharmacokinetic (PK) parameters for clinical studies using Certara’s Phoenix WinNonLin, and conducting exploratory data analysis in RStudio to support data-driven insights. My year in industry was transformative and allowed me to enhance my communication, collaboration, networking, and programming skills while learning about clinical trial phases and conducting PK analysis.Previous experience includes roles as a Sustainability Outreach Leader and Urban Food Grower at the University of Westminster, focusing on sustainable practices and research on bioactive compounds. Additionally, I have worked as a Teaching Assistant in primary schools, improving communication skills, and completed work experience at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, gaining insights into statistical analysis and research on the effects of air pollution.
