As an Observer at the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), my role involves integrating the critical insights from IPBES assessments into the broader frameworks of global risk management and sustainability. Leading GCRI initiatives, we focus on aligning the outcomes of the IPBES Nexus Assessment—which addresses the intersections of biodiversity, climate, water, food, and health systems—with the Nexus Ecosystem. The ecosystem transforms IPBES findings into Nexus Reports and Nexus Standards that can be used by governments, industry, and civil society to operationalize biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management in practical and scalable ways.
