Hi, I\'m Sachin Shivkar, a seasoned Layout Supervisor at DNEG in London with over 14 years of experience in the VFX industry. My journey began with a Bachelor\'s in Computer Application from Yashwant Rao Chavan Open University, Mumbai, where I developed a foundational understanding of computing principles. Further honing my skills, I earned a Diploma in VFX from Frameboxx Animation & Visual Effects Pvt Ltd, equipping me with the specialized knowledge needed for a career in visual effects. My professional path started in 2009 as a Matchmove Artist at MPC Bangalore. This role was a pivotal starting point, allowing me to learn the intricacies of matchmoving and set the stage for future growth. In 2011, I joined Prime Focus India in Mumbai as a Lead in Matchmove, where I began to refine my leadership skills and deepen my technical expertise. DNEG has been a significant part of my career since 2016, starting in Mumbai as a Matchmove Lead. Here, I was responsible for quality control and troubleshooting complex shots, along with maintaining shot deliveries as per show requirements. My commitment to excellence and continuous learning led to my progression to a Layout TD, where I further developed skills in show supervision and team upskilling, aligning with DNEG\'s standards. The role of Layout Lead at DNEG India was a natural next step, where I focused on quality control, complex shot troubleshooting, and maintaining shot deliveries. My ability to manage teams and ensure the highest quality standards was recognized, leading to my current position as Layout Supervisor in DNEG, London. In this role, I oversee show bidding and planning, tool development, and quality monitoring. I also play a critical role in interviewing and training new hires, constantly working towards enhancing team skills to tackle complex shots.
