ABOUT SACHIN JAOLEKAR

Sachin is a senior business leader with over two decades of experience building and scaling large consumer businesses across Sales, Buying, Merchandising, Customer Development, Organised Trade, and Retail Operations in India’s FMCG and modern retail ecosystem.Currently, Sachin leads Buying and Merchandising – FMCG at Avenue Supermarts Ltd.(DMart),as Vice President FMCG.Previously at Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), Sachin held several senior leadership roles across the West and South regions of India, with deep exposure to the entire route-to-market continuum—from micro-rural and rural markets to urban, omni-channel, and digital commerce environments.As Head of Organised Trade (Modern Trade, E-commerce, and Alternate Channels) and Customer Marketing for ICD, Sachin led HUL’s organised trade agenda across formats, integrating sales, shopper marketing, and customer strategy for Modern Trade, E-commerce, Leisure, and CSD channels. In this role, he carried full channel P&L responsibility, led cross-functional teams, and partnered closely with key customers on long-term growth, capability building, and omni-channel transformation.Earlier, as Customer Development Manager – Organised Trade, Sachin led the Karnataka and Kerala businesses.As National Key Account Manager and later National Customer Development Manager (NCDM), he managed some of HUL’s most strategic customer partnerships and led a national team of 19 CDMs across 14 clusters, supported by a large third-party operations ecosystem. He has also done ASM role Traditional Trade and Trade category Management for Foods and Beverage Business in HUL.Sachin also brings hands-on retail operations experience, having served as an Area Manager with DMart, where he managed store operations across a Mumbai cluster and was part of the core ERP implementation team at the store level—giving him a strong practitioner’s perspective of retail execution.Widely regarded as a people-centric leader, Sachin is known for building strong leadership pipelines, driving accountability at scale, and aligning large, diverse teams around clear strategic priorities. He combines execution depth with enterprise-level thinking, enabling sustainable value creation across manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.An alumnus of IIM Bangalore, Sachin has completed the Advanced Management Programme, further strengthening his strategic, commercial, and leadership capabilities.
