About Sabesan Thayumanavan
A first generation graduate (19••••98) who completed his Post Graduation in Genetics & Plant Breeding winning Dr.M.S. Swaminathan Endowment Gold Medal and pursued Ph.D in genetics of quality traits in rice (2006); nominated two high yielding fine quality lines to AICRIP (2009). Successfully completed five UGC Major Research Projects; 1 as Investigator and 4 as Co-Principal Investigator. Completed a consultancy project with Arysta Life science, Mumbai. In addition to teaching and research, I am taking free coaching classes to students for JRF & SRF exams. Striving to improve the quality of farmers lives in TamilNadu doing focused research on abiotic stress tolerance in rice for coastal saline areas
