ABOUT SABEEHA Q.

I work at the intersection of global health security, humanitarian crises, diplomacy, technology, and public policy — building partnerships that connect global institutions, governments, and innovators to advance equity, impact, resilience, and responsible innovation. My 18 year career spans the United Nations, U.S. government, philanthropy, and municipal leadership, including senior roles with WHO, USAID, and UNICEF, as well as a Presidential appointment at the U.S. Department of Defense. Most recently, I served as Regional Head for WHO Health Emergencies in Eastern and Southern Africa, following leadership roles at USAID on global engagement and humanitarian reform, and at UNICEF managing emergency response and systems strengthening in complex settings. I also briefly served as Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services in a major U.S. city, advising during a transition period focusing on optimization initiatives at the intersection of ethics, public health and social policy.A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, also serving on CFR Advisory Committees, I write and speak on AI, global governance, gender equality and institutional reform, including a TEDx Talk on AI and Aid, and guest lectures at Harvard’s Belfer Center and GWU Elliot School.I’m passionate about using technology and diplomacy to reimagine how global and local systems deliver for people — strengthening trust, sustainability, and shared prosperity across borders.
