Selected to serve as Assistant Director in January 2021 to lead a litigation team of 12 trial attorneys and senior litigation counsel managing all civil immigration litigation, both affirmative and defensive, before federal district courts and circuit courts of appeals as well as overseeing coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and United States Customs and Border Protection – to enforce and defend United States immigration laws.Selected to serve as Senior Litigation Counsel in April 2018 to act in a supervisory role supporting an Assistant Director managing a team of 14 trial attorneys. Presented oral arguments before the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals for the First, Second, Third, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth and Eleventh Circuits. Amassed more than 20 published decisions on a wide variety of issues, including eligibility for relief from deportation and the consequences of criminal convictions for immigration purposes. Handle immigration matters, including class action litigation, before federal district courts nationwide and provide expertise on district court litigation.
