About Saba K.
I am currently working as a Director of Tech to Market Strategy at Joules Accelerator where I support grid-focused startups with their commercialization and validation strategy. I partner with corporates, nonprofits, universities, capital partners, and local governments to ensure that there is a cohesive ecosystem strategy for the successful integration of startups that are looking to disrupt the power systems spaces that have had limited innovations in the last 50 years.On the side, I also run my independent consulting firm, SK Innovations, advising startups, accelerators, and incubators working within the grid space, on commercialization strategy, product development, and GTM strategies.I am an Electrical Engineer who started my career at GE Energy (now GE Vernova). During my tenure, I held various roles, including service engineering, cybersecurity, systems engineering, and finally, battery storage Balance of Plant (BoP) design.I then switched hats to become a management consultant at West Monroe within the Energy and Utilities practice, where I went from designing products for renewable energy, to determining which products are needed to meet renewable energy targets. I help my clients navigate their strategic technological roadmaps as well as quantify the business value for the transformation and implementation of such roadmaps. It has been rewarding working hand in hand with clients to help them unlock the next level of their potential to face the incoming (and ongoing) effects of climate change and translating them to grid resiliency and security.I worked at Advanced Research Projects Agency- Energy (ARPA-E) as a Technology to Market advisor to expedite grid development in the United States and support the design of the next evolution of the electric grid and addressing the associated technological challenges.
