Before starting Siwetech, I started planning & discussing with friends, thinking short term, long term, making sure I will do it right, attention to detail. And more importantly, I vowed that I will treat my team with the best way possible. I started by taking a loan. Had a few old clients, had my brother as a partner and a complete plan with sales manuals, employee kits, brochures, flyers and what not. I thought that with this perfect plan and setup, how can anyone fail, let alone me? We started hiring, got 6 team members on board. Did detailed training and orientation. We worked all week, and kept Saturday for group activities and games. Everything was done for encouragement, no one was said any harsh words or remanded for non performance, all were motivated and excited. This went on for like the first 2 months. We did horrible business in 2 months. After 4 more months, we did slightly better. What\'s more, the loan I had taken out was depleted, interest was mounting and any sort of break-even was nowhere in sight. So, I asked one of my old friend to come on board, whose primary goal was to figure out why sales is not happening and bring us out of losses. He took detailed reports and set clear goals + targets and started taking account of progress on a weekly basis. In this way, we found out, none of the team members we performing as they should & they were never going to perform. So, we let them go, rehired with bigger packages and benefits. This time, I got robbed, threatened & harassed till I could no longer continue paying from my pocket. All because I started taking accountability. In the end, I fired my brother too as the saying goes: success has many relatives and failure is an orphan. Now, after 2 years of continuous stress and sacrifice, things have actually started to work. We reached break even. With work coming from 4 countries, I have started the loan repayment + have a hand picked & great team. We\'re getting there.
