Created in 2020 a unique team that specializes in the management of engineering specific materials for all Pilot and New Product Introduction (NPI) programs- NPI Warehouse is the only engineering-specific materials team that executes this function for Tesla, globally- Began with only (x6) material handlers and through mentorship and development, grew into a high-performing team of (x40) NPI Warehouse Technicians, including a title change.NPI warehouse team coordinates all material flow strategies according to the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) and communicates overall readiness specific to engineering prototype inventory and oversees this program’s maturity from concept to start of production launch.Cross-functional collaboration with Material Planners, Warehousing, System Analytics, Engineering, Finance, and Accounting to accurately manage material timelines through Material Requirements Planning (MRP) that span across multiple supplier sources internationally.Our NPI team uses first-principle creative solutions to proactively address all possible material shortage risks, supplier tooling issues, and international lead times to improve our collective supply chain strategies and supplier relationships.Designing satellite warehouses in accordance with OSHA standards, permitting storage facilities through the city, building a larger network of warehouse facilities, and integrating each of these sites through Tesla’s digital dashboard systems is the most effective method for inventory management.Primary Goal:To optimize warehousing operations to support engineering trials through the efficient utilization of space, labor, and equipment to exceed customers\' expectations.
