About Sheila Toro

I am a physician deeply committed to advancing health equity and serving my community. After earning my medical degree from the University of Los Andes in Venezuela, I have been fortunate to continue my journey as a PGY-2 Family Medicine resident at Rio Bravo in Bakersfield, California. To better serve my patients through evidence-based care, I also completed a master’s degree in clinical research at Rush University Medical Center in 2024 and I\'ll start soon an MPH in Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.Guided by a deep vocation for service, I strive to provide compassionate care to underserved populations, building upon the foundational work I began in my home country. During my training, I found myself falling in love with the geriatric population; it is deeply important to me to honor and serve our elders with the respect they deserve.
