About Stephen Perkins
Hello, thanks for stopping by! I am a software engineer who is passionate about working on purpose-driven initiatives and products. My clients and teammates often highlight my ability to blend technical expertise with soft skills (active listening, empathy, and strong organizational abilities) to develop practical, creative solutions. I like the autonomy to wear many hats and try new things. I am excited to explore new opportunities to work on creative and meaningful products. With 8+ years of experience as a technical consultant for Epic, I collaborated with doctors, nurses, and administrators to streamline complex workflows in Anesthesia, Surgical and Cardiology Departments. I led numerous challenging projects across the US, including 20+ large implementations, feature rollouts, and optimization initiatives. I also volunteer much of my free time as COO and Dev Lead for All We Are, a non-profit that provides solar power to individuals in Uganda, with the mission of promoting community development through greater access to education. These experiences motivated me to continue growing my technical skills and I recently graduated from Hack Reactor\'s immersive software engineering bootcamp. Looking ahead, I\'m eager to continue working with motivated individuals on impactful projects making a positive difference.
