ABOUT SUBIN GEORGE

I am a mechanical engineer with 10 years of biomedical R&D experience developing and testing cutting edge technologies. I have a master’s in mechanical engineering (M.E) with a focus on product design, a Ph.D. in M.E focused on developing novel microfluidic solutions for biological applications, 4 years of inter-disciplinary postdoctoral experience and 5 years of industry experience. I have worked on a variety of projects of varying depth and scope, including developing an improved occlusion detection system for Medtronic Diabetes’s insulin pumps, microfluidic platforms for 3D cell culture and liver organ on chips, and non-invasive methods to measure oxygen, glucose and lactate via implantable biosensors to help manage chronic disease. My work has produced fundamental enabling technologies as evidenced by 6 peer reviewed publications and 3 international conference presentations, and 4 patent applications. I am an excellent team player with significant experience working with cross functional teams including biologists, biophysicists, medical doctors, and engineers (mechanical, electrical, chemical, material science, and biomedical). I have been a part of, as well as managed, multiple projects and engineers.
