ABOUT S ANANDHAN
Dr. Anandhan is a Professor of Polymers and Nanotechnology with research expertise in: Flexible electronics; Advanced Functional Nanofabrics (polymeric nanofabrics for energy and biomedical applications; ceramic nanofibers for sensing and catalysis); Energy Materials (gel polymer electrolytes/separators for Li-ion, Na-ion and Mg-ion batteries); Polymer Nanocomposites; Polymer Blends; Waste Management.He has been teaching courses in the areas of polymers, nanomaterials, materials characterization, and nanocomposites. He was a gold medalist in both BSc (first rank among 240 students) and MSc. He has supervised 10 doctoral students to completion and 3 more have been working for their PhD. He has also advised a postdoctoral fellow and 50 master\'s research projects in various areas related to polymers and nanotechnology. He has published over 100 articles, two patents; 2 books; 15 book chapters and two international books. He was a principal investigator/co-principal investigator of five sponsored research projects. He has been a referee for a number of international journals and doctoral dissertations. He was awarded IOP Trusted Reviewer status by the Institute of Physics Publishing, UK in January 2024. He has received research fellowships from Australia-India Council, and Inha University-Korea. He is a Fellow of: the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institution of Engineers, and Indian Chemical Society. He is a recipient of the IEI young engineer award.He has been an invited member in some national level committees, such as NBA, NAAC and NRDC. He has been a referee for research project proposals submitted for funding of BRNS, and subject expert in the selection panel of Kerala State Council for Science Technology and Environment.
