ABOUT RYSZARD KOZIEL

Hello! I am a Ph.D. Candidate at Saint Louis University. I defended my MS thesis in the summer of 2024, investigating work-related and psychological outcomes related to social safety interventions. Before attending SLU, I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Statistics.I research OHP (occupational health psychology), focusing on topics related to worker health and wellbeing, especially surrounding work-family and precarious working arrangements. I’m also highly interested in topics surrounding worker substance use and recovery friendly workplaces. I’m experienced in applied and scholarly research. I’ve also worked in HR, evaluation, and in worker health and safety. I’m working towards academic teaching and research roles. Education and exploring the world through research, both inside and outside of the university environment, is a crucial way of engaging with the world! I hope to contribute to institutions dedicated to educational access, collaborative work, and that contribute to the growth and thriving of their surrounding community. I am also interested in roles promoting worker physical and psychosocial health and safety alongside labor and worker organizations, getting involved in labor education, and engaging in work that can inform organizational and social policy to make the work healthy and sustainable!
