Communications isn\'t just about conveying a message; it\'s about connecting with people. Early in my working life, one of my first jobs was at a video store, back in the days when there was one in every neighbourhood. As a passionate film lover, it was a dream job—connecting with customers over something I truly enjoyed. That experience led me into the world of motion picture marketing, where I spent over a decade working on publicity campaigns and promotional events for one of the Big Five major film studios. It was a career I dove into wholeheartedly, creating connections with moviegoers and cinephiles along the way. But life sometimes presents unexpected challenges—and when I was faced with the need to pivot, I embraced it. Returning to customer service and retail, I found myself in a communications role for a home furnishing company known for its strong values (and its famous meatballs). This shift has given me the incredible opportunity, in part, to lead social impact and sustainability efforts, connecting with stakeholders to drive behavioral change. Today, it’s all about creating meaningful conversations—whether it\'s about sustainable actions or supporting vulnerable communities through our social initiatives. While this path wasn’t one I anticipated, I’m grateful for it and excited for where it will lead. Looking ahead, I’m eager to see what the next chapter brings.
