I\'m a counsel in Akin’s intellectual property (IP) group and New York office. I primarily represent clients in district court and in Section 337 investigations at the ITC. I also advise on AI, public policy and cybersecurity, privacy & data protection issues for leading investment funds, technology corporations and multinational companies.My litigation experience includes identifying prior art, drafting documents, overseeing filings, advising in-house counsel and managing expert witnesses. Prior to joining Akin, I\'ve been involved in district court patent litigation, inter partes review (IPR) proceedings, FTC and ITC investigations. I leverage my multidisciplinary background in life sciences and technology across a number of complex fields, including computer vision, streaming video, wearables, nucleic acid amplification, blood screening and medical devices. I provide guidance and counseling to clients regarding privacy and data protection for a range of technologies, including biometrics and AI-automated data processing. I also advise clients on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other data privacy regulations, including draft state and federal privacy legislation.Clients rely on me to provide comprehensive assessments of AI-related regulations across different jurisdictions. I offer guidance on developing AI standards, advises on AI-related enforcement actions and identifies potential risks associated with the deployment of AI. Amidst the recent adoption of the landmark EU Artificial Intelligence Act, U.S. agency rulemaking efforts, and proposed federal and state regulations, I advise clients on the impact of these regulations and compliance obligations. My clients include developers, deployers, and a wide range of other participants in the AI value chain.I hold an Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) certification, as well as Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)/US and CIPP/E credentials through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
